Smart Kalasatama data explored in MyData conference

MyData 2016 is an international conference that focuses on human centric personal information management. MyData is an initiative to help people gain more control over their personal data. The conference brings together an international crowd of 1000 people from businesses, research community, civil society and government to shape the fundamentals on how personal data is managed globally.

In Kalasatama district, the most exact real-time energy and waste data is already produced. Now, in MyData2016 conference, some subsets of the data are available for the first time available for expert exploration and co-innovation what do with it. Join us!

On the 31st of August, a session Mobility, energy and smart cities will discuss, how to enable smoother living in smarter cities by frictionless flow of data. The session explores e.g., does understanding your everyday actions better lead to behavioral change. Circular economy expert Lilli Linkola will explore household energy data from Fiskari Kalasatama. The data set is also available at Ultrahack hackathon running parallel to the conference.

The session is hosted by Pekka Koponen from Forum Virium Helsinki. The speakers include Sami Pippuri, Lilli Linkola and Fedja Zdrnja.

MyData 2016 event is organized by Open Knowledge Finland, Aalto University and Fing.
